God has been so good to us! Our little family is going to be moving again (not far, this time), and we are overjoyed. A home has come available on the Highland campus, so we can eliminate Steven's morning commute. We have been through many states of mind regarding housing since we decided to take this call, from wanting to buy our own home to wanting to rent a home on campus, but God has repeatedly closed the door to our purchasing a home, and we are now going to be able to live right by Steven's work.
As any family with only one car can attest, it can be very difficult to coordinate schedules when two people need the car and there is a ten minute drive between home and work. This home provides the answer.
Just today we got the OK to plant a garden on the campus, and I can hardly wait to get it all tilled and planted. I bought lots of seeds from Southern Exposure Seed Exchange this winter, and I'm itching to get them in the ground.
We will miss our home out in the woods, with all the peace and privacy it affords, but we are looking forward to a smaller space (more manageable for a mediocre housekeeper) and the opportunity to build our own yard (complete with espaliered fruit trees, Lord willing!)
Keep us in your prayers as we get packed and moved--it's going to be a rough few weeks!

Hey, Alice. Somewhere I read what you have written about cov.
ReplyDeleteI am a SDA, official, but I cannot go there, am too far away where I live... I cover. I don´t talk about (well, on posts I do), just do it at church and everywhere. Even other people like my covering. Because of the angels. I know, they SDA teach something else, but I love the Word of God. And I simply do it and don´t look on what men say and teach, only the Man Jesus ;)
Thank you for your encouraging comment. This is an issue I haven't brought up on my blog yet, but have a post in the works. I am encouraged to know of another Adventist who is convicted to follow this instruction in God's word. It is a struggle sometimes to remember that it is only His opinion that matters. I am grateful to have the support of my husband on this, and every once in a while I read the passage and some explanations again to remind me why I keep doing this. I'd love to talk to you more. My email address if you are interested is alicelizabeth.w@gmail.com. God bless you!
